Program Overview
In this six-month program you’ll join Andre and Mary-Anne on an adventure down the spiritual rabbit hole. We’ll explore some of the most creative and inspiring perspectives on God, self, scriptures, and the world. The goal is nothing less than intensifying and diversifying your experience. Consequently, we will do more than share information – throughout the program we’ll develop new, fun, and practical habits that will be helpful for each course and enriching for life beyond the program.
Spaces are limited, so register early. The program begins January 2025.
Courses And Topics Covered
- Our first course, The Creative Value of Your Perspective, explores the art of creating meaning. We are constantly in the process of interpreting our world. Every text, every conversation, in fact every experience requires interpretation. And there are better and worse ways of going about it.
- Having established that we can creatively participate in creating meaning, course two helps us develop one of the habits to access more possibilities of meaning. The Thunder of Silence course takes us through the actual practice of meditative silence.
- By course three we put into practice these newfound skills as we reinterpret some of the most foundational stories concerning human origins. In “The Human Genesis” course, Wwe draw from a variety of disciplines – biblical studies, theology, philosophy, and anthropology to paint a whole new image of the events, the desires, and the relationships that made us human.
- However, the human story includes many mistakes and misinterpretations. Jesus offers a whole new interpretation of who God is, who we are, and demonstrates what relationship with God could mean. Mimesis in the Gospel of John (course four) shows us a whole new way of being human.
- Finally, we reinterpret God in The Face of the Invisible. Many have discovered a God that is bigger and more beautiful than their religions and traditions. How can our interpretation expand to accommodate more of this inexhaustible beauty?

How it Works
- Each week (on a Friday) a new lesson is made available. A written lesson is often accompanied by an audio and/or a video (approximately 30min each). To read through the lesson and watch the video will take at most an hour.
- One of the most important goals of the course is to help students develop their own unique voice. That means that lessons are not designed to cram you full of information, but rather to draw your unique understanding out. This is facilitated by a weekly written assignment of 300 – 500 words. It is by far one of the most beneficial disciplines. (Time:15 – 45 min) Try and post the assignment by the following Tuesday.
- The assignments are posted within the class for other students to engage with. Unlike social media where everyone can enter a conversation and steer it in any direction, these conversations are within the class context. That means everyone has read and listened to the same material and answered the same questions in preparing their assignments. The engagements are therefore very focussed and insightful. (Many beautiful friendships have developed from these conversations in previous classes) We encourage students to spend at least 45 min/week interacting within these forums.
- So to summarize the weekly commitment so far: 45 min to work through the lesson; 45 min to write the assignment; 45 min interacting in forums. That totals to just more than two hours per week.
- Every two weeks we host an online video conference.
- The course is for 6 months.
- The final commitment is reading a prescribed book per month. The books are NOT included in the course fees. The time spent depends on your reading speed. Here are some ideas to help increase your reading speed: https://youtu.be/HhW8IHhmSY8
